FOB Rolls by RNIS

Image
FOB Rolls is a cheap lunch place in Tivoli Arcade.  They are usually quite quiet. The outside of the shop What is on display for you to choose   FOB Rolls is a healthy, Vietnamese place which doesn't use a lot of MSG. In fact you can choose your toppings. The service is very friendly and they are cash only. It is a tiny place which does $10 lunch combos which include a drink, salad, bhanh mi or a rice paper roll. I generally love their vegetarian versions of these as they are fresh and the sauce is usually on the side. I have tried their prawn rice paper rolls and love these. You can also choose the salads. You can go with everything or take some things out depending on what you like. Their teas are not too sweet and are full of flavour. Do visit this healthy cheap eat and I love returning to it all the time.

I was invited by FullerPR and RNIS to dine here for their Good Food Month. Good Food Month is in November and Southgate always puts on their Good Food Month events where dishes are less than $40 which includes wine. Participating restaurants showcase their signature dishes and this was no exception. EntrĂ©e of wood ear mushrooms (middle), bread (left) and octopus carpachio (right). The service here was splendid, although they forgot RNIS's booking and RNIS had to remind them. The place was clean and open and I enjoyed playing with my new camera here. I also enjoyed watching them make my porchetta (which by the way is pork with stuffing) We of course had to pay for our own entrees and other things, but they were a delight to be had. Such ones included the Italian bread and the wood mushrooms which went well with the pumpkin pasta dish and m

Charlie and Co

With RNIS bloggers. RNIS and Charlie and co invited me and I thank them for the invite. Charlie and Co is a place in Emporium and they just opened in May. This place was a hit with Sydney bloggers hence they decided to come to Melbourne. We really enjoyed their friendly service This December they are participating in the advent calendar challenge where they have a few freebies for their loyal Facebook fans. RNIS went for the veggie burger and I went for the true aussie burger which I enjoyed. You can read about their review here. We also shared some sides such as the coleslaw and onion rings which were just magnificent. I remembered that RNIS has been to try their truffle fries and enjoyed it a lot. Do come and visit the place for yourself and see what the fuss is about.

Hooked with RNIS

I was invited to dine here with RNIS and by Zilla and Brook. Hooked is in Hawthorn on Glenferrie Road near Swinburne Uni. They are a seafood shop which was popular in Brunswick st Fitzroy and now they have opened shop in Hawthorn. On the Friday night that we went it was steady. The food that we tried was really good. We tried many seafood dishes such as Salt and Pepper Calamari, Squid, Fish Bites and Slaw and other things. Their aim is to be healthy and that is what they did. Their food was not too oily and was well balanced. Do come and try it for yourself and you'll love the freshness of the food.
