Staycation at Miri Marriott Resort & Spa during CNY 2022

I share the review of Miri Marriott Resort and Spa in Miri, Sarawak with you, this staycation was in February 2022 during Chinese New Year for 3D2N 

Miri Marriott Resort & Spa is 5 Star hotel and participating Marriott Bonvoy rewards.

I booked with using buy 1 night and get free 1 night voucher from Club Marriott (CM). It costs total about RM 400.00 this time, it's affordable for many travelers. If you have friends, it's only about RM 200.00 each 
My room type was Deluxe Ocean Room (Ocean View and King Bed) but unfortunately room upgrade is not available because this room is a highest category before Suite rooms

Since I used CM voucher, I must make an reservation to CM by email, but each participating hotels always decide which rooms they will offer to the member, it's subject to availability, but unfortunately, they won't offer Suite rooms.

If you are Marriott Gold Elite member, you may can get room upgrade except Suite rooms, but it's subjected to availability.

However, This is good news, Miri Marriott provides complementary buffet breakfast, welcome drink and snacks and free drinks (redeem at the bar.) for Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite members but the benefits may be changed or modified in future, you should check with the hotel before you visit.

For this stay, here is my staycation experience at Miri Marriott below:

  4. Free Buffett Breakfast each night
  5. Late Check-out at 2pm

Good Food Month is in November and Southgate always puts on their Good Food Month events where dishes are less than $40 which includes wine. Lunch at Grill'd in 29th March 2014

As a part of my food experience. Grill’d is in Southern Cross station where the old Great Southern Railway ticket box used to be. It is a chain store.   In the past six months that they have been opened there have been many promotions. I can remember the free slushy days to promote their Virgin Mary’s (by the way they have alcohol for all the footy fans wanting to enjoy a beer afterwards) I had a buy one burger get one free voucher and there was an AFL game that day (St Kilda vs GWS Giants at Etihad) so I wanted to check this place out. I have walked by this clean and lovely place many times but had not gone in. All those times was when I was rushing to go home on the train. Like other Grill’ds this one had all the same burgers. But they differ in quality. Whilst others were bad this one was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bombay bliss whilst Happy Leandro enjoyed the Mighty Melbourne burger. Hooked with RNIS

I was invited to dine here with RNIS and by Zilla and Brook. Hooked is in Hawthorn on Glenferrie Road near Swinburne Uni. They are a seafood shop which was popular in Brunswick st Fitzroy and now they have opened shop in Hawthorn. On the Friday night that we went it was steady. The food that we tried was really good. We tried many seafood dishes such as Salt and Pepper Calamari, Squid, Fish Bites and Slaw and other things. Their aim is to be healthy and that is what they did. Their food was not too oily and was well balanced. Do come and try it for yourself and you'll love the freshness of the food.
